If the Mangopay Wallet associated with your Walliance account has not recorded any transactions for approximately 22 months, you may receive a communication inviting you to carry out a transaction within the following two months.
When is the Mangopay Wallet considered inactive?
According to Mangopay's Terms and Conditions, a Wallet is considered inactive when no transactions are recorded for 24 consecutive months. This provision is set out in:
Article 4.3 of Mangopay's Terms and Conditions, available in the footer of the Walliance website;
CSSF Circular 15/631.
In the event of inactivity, Mangopay may apply an inactivity fee of up to €30 per year, within the limits of the balance available in the Wallet. In particular:
if the available balance is €30 or more, the fee may be up to €30;
if the balance is less than €30, the fee cannot exceed the amount available;
if the balance is zero, no amount will be charged.
The inactivity fee is provided for and applied directly by Mangopay.
How to avoid the Mangopay Wallet inactivity fee
To keep your Wallet active and avoid the application of the fee, you simply need to carry out at least one transaction before 24 months have elapsed since the last recorded activity. You can choose one of the following:
Top up your Wallet by payment card or bank transfer, including instant bank transfer, regardless of the amount.
Make a withdrawal, available if the Wallet balance is greater than €1.
Once a transaction has been completed, the 24-month period will start again from the date of the latest transaction recorded on the Wallet.
How to check the bank account linked to your Wallet
Before making a withdrawal, especially if you have not accessed Walliance for some time, we recommend checking that the bank account linked to your account is still correct and up to date.
